47? 46? Nope, it's 45 Days to Christmas!

Sadly, my weekend in London meant that I missed a couple of days on the old Countdown, so to make up for it today, here are 3 more Christmas tunes, starting with:

Day 47:
This one made the Christmas Number 1 thirty one years ago, and it was a cover of a song first recorded in 1956 by Harry Belafonte, and this effort by 70's Dicso group, Boney M is also a bit of a must for Christmas CD's to include:

Day 46:
You can't have Christmas without the Elton John classic, Step into Christmas, and that's the tune for Day 47 on the Countdown.

This was released in 1973, but the bizarre fact of the day for this one, is that it was originally released as a stand alone single, with the B side being "Ho! Ho! Ho! (Who'd be a Turkey at Christmas)" - a mad title if ever there was one!

Another strange fact is that it was covered later on by The Business, for their Bollocks to Christmas EP!

Anyway, here it is:

Day 45:
So, to today's classic on the Countdown, and one for the London crew here, as the band East 17 had a hit called Stay Another Day, which was released in 1994, and became the band's first number one.

It was actually at the number one spot for 5 weeks, and the bizarre fact for this one was that it was used in one of the British soaps, EastEnders, when the dog "Wellard" was put down!

Anyway, here's the christmassy tune complete with lots of bells:

Enjoy all three!!!
